Builder · Code, Cloud & AI — from idea to production
Independent software engineer and Azure consultant based in Santpoort-Noord. I build software that matters: from architecture to production, pragmatic and without the noise. Over fifteen years of experience, mostly with organisations where things simply have to be right: financial services, pensions and government.

I'm Michael Teeuwen — an engineer to the core. My path didn't start with code but with design: I studied Multimedia Design and then Computer Science in Amsterdam. That mix of an eye for detail and technical depth has stayed with me ever since.
Over more than fifteen years I grew from web developer to senior software engineer and cloud architect. I've built business-critical systems for organisations including De Nederlandsche Bank, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Robeco and PGB Pensioendiensten — from a monolith rebuild with a team of twelve to microservices on Azure.
In 2021 I founded Codery, my own consultancy. No layers, no noise: you work directly with the engineer writing your code. I specialised in Azure architecture, DevOps and infrastructure as code — the foundations these sectors run on.
Depth where it matters most in complex, secure software.
Scalable, secure platforms on Azure — from landing zones to cloud-native applications, secure & privacy by design.
C# and .NET (10 / Aspire), DDD and Clean Architecture. Robust backends, microservices and APIs that last for years.
OpenIddict, Finbuckle and Microsoft Entra. OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, single sign-on and secure access to the core.
SaaS platforms with watertight separation of data, configuration and security per tenant.
Azure DevOps (YAML), CI/CD and repeatable infrastructure with Bicep and Terraform.
Using AI smartly in the development process — shipping faster without sacrificing quality or control.
Independent, direct and results-driven. Here's what to expect from me.
No account managers or middle layers. You deal directly with the engineer who builds it.
I help shape the design and deliver working software. From whiteboard to deploy.
Clear scope, short lines and choices I can explain to both the business and the team.
Security and compliance aren't an afterthought, but part of the design.
A selection from over fifteen years of building software that counts.

I build software and cloud infrastructure for organisations where things simply can't be shaky — financial services, pensions, public services. My specialty: setting up Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines, infrastructure as code, cloud-native and AI-assisted development — and making it something beautiful. I know the frameworks that apply in that world and build with them in mind, so that what I deliver not only works but also stands up to scrutiny.

When I'm not building software, you'll usually find me behind a board game, with a book, or — once again — building a side project. Curiosity is my constant.
Board games
Strategy, cooperation and that one just-a-bit-too-clever move.
Reading
From tech to fiction — always learning something new.
Building software
Side projects where I play with new technology.
Whether it's Azure architecture, a complex identity challenge or temporary team reinforcement — I'm happy to think along.
